Press Release Summary: Testing Cameras at Hot Environment Thermal tolerances of cameras by Acumen exceed the stated value by 30%.
Press Release Body: Technical department of the Russian office of Acumen tests the new extreme following the low temperature testing of the cameras on the surface of dry ice. To determine the maximum operating temperature of the Acumens equipment it was placed in a thermo-chamber which is capable of reaching temperatures above 400C (752F). The following products were subjected to extreme heat: external high-speed cameras Ai-SD85 and Ai-SD27, all-weather Ai-IR59, cylindrical Ai-BU45S, 19\" monitor Ai-ML198N. Testing is especially important for the first three models since during the summer all outdoor cameras are exposed to sun all day long. On the other hand Mini-cameras and monitors could face overheating when placed in the high-heat environment - metallurgical manufacturing. Additional reasons for this testing were the fears of a possible overheating due to the black surface of the cameras, which supposedly promotes greater heat in the sun. The maximum operating temperature of the tested equipment in accordance with the manufacturer\'s instructions varies from +50C to +60C (122F to 140F).
During the test the cameras were slowly heated for three hours, starting from the room temperature. It is only when the temperature inside the heating chamber reached 95C (203F) the cameras stopped transmitting video. Results were recorded then the temperature was slowly reduced. When the temperature of the cameras cooled to 92C (197F) the video transmission was re-established.
The maximum temperature to which the monitor was heated is 70C. At that temperature there were no visible differences in the quality of picture on display.
The conclusion of this experiment is that thermo-stability of the equipment by Acumen is much higher than indicated in the characteristics of equipments values. Cameras have an impressive stock of resistance to the extreme conditions.
